NISMO Restored Car

NISMO’s restored car program offers a meticulous, performance-focused restoration of classic Nissan vehicles—especially the iconic Skyline GT-R—by reviving them to factory-new or enhanced specifications using proprietary techniques and parts.

NISMO’s restoration philosophy goes beyond cosmetic refurbishment, emphasizing the concept of “restoring performance in a visible way.” This involves a complete teardown and rebuild of the vehicle, including the body, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and interior. The process begins with a full disassembly and 3D measurement of the chassis to assess and correct structural integrity. The body is then repaired, repainted, and optionally treated with advanced coatings. The engine, particularly the RB26DETT, is overhauled or upgraded to NISMO tuning specs, with each component cleaned, measured, and tested to ensure optimal performance.

The restoration extends to the drivetrain, braking, and electrical systems, using NISMO Heritage Parts where possible. Interiors are either cleaned or reupholstered using premium materials from the Nissan GT-R (R35), under the guidance of Nissan designers. Each restored car undergoes rigorous testing, including chassis dynamometer checks and road tests by professional drivers. A serialized model plate and detailed documentation are provided as proof of authenticity. The process takes 6–12 months and costs approximately ¥65 million. NISMO also offers partial overhauls and can help source donor vehicles for restoration.
