1995 24 Hours of Le Mans
The 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 63rd edition of the endurance race held on June 17-18 amidst approximately 17 hours of persistent rain, saw the #59 McLaren F1 GTR, driven by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya, triumph in the GT1 category. This victory marked the first Le Mans win for both a Finnish and a Japanese driver, as well as McLaren's debut win at its first attempt, a feat previously matched only by Ferrari in 1949. The dominance of the McLaren F1 GTR was further evident as it secured four of the top five finishing positions.
