IMSA SportsCar Championship
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the premier sports car racing series in the United States and Canada, organized by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). This championship, featuring both prototype and GT cars in various classes competing in endurance and sprint races, was formed in 2014 through the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series, which followed the earlier IMSA GT Championship (1971-1998). Initially known as the United SportsCar Championship, it was renamed the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2016, with Tudor as the title sponsor for 2014-2015 and WeatherTech taking over the sponsorship in 2016.
